Lanaire Aderemi is a poet, playwright and performer and founder of Story story festival. Using audio, video and written word, she crafts artwork focused on centering and amplifying Nigerian stories. Her work is grounded in rigorous research as evidenced by her winning the Peter Gutkind prize for the highest dissertation score in sociology at the University of Warwick.
Story story is a three-key digital festival comprising open conversations, commissions and workshops, and culminating in a screening of ‘An evening with verse writer; A documentary by Lanaire Aderemi’. The festival aims to amplify the voices of emerging writers, poets and theatre makers while equipping them with the tools needed to share their stories with the world.
Taking place from the 5th to the 7th of February, the festival will be opened by an audio-visual set from rising Nigerian DJ – DJ Cameron which would celebrate the oral tradition of storytelling in music.
